Title: Bird questions
Post by: erik draven on November 07, 2013, 06:24:36 PM
Do 87-93 mustang drives shafts have the same length and the 83-86 bird?  Also what about the mustang clutch pedal assembly will it work in the bird

IIRC the pedals will work, the driveshaft will not.

If I recall correctly. If you're looking for an aluminum driveshaft you can snag one from a crown Vic (panther chassis) and have to cut down to length.

I used a Stang pedal assembly in my Bird, and as mentioned above, I bought an aluminum driveshaft from a Crown Vic cop car, had it shortened, and they also balanced it and used the adapter u-joints so I could use the yoke and . Nice work and shed a lot of pounds from the rotating bits.
