Title: Radiator air deflector
Post by: Thunderbirdz on October 29, 2013, 01:39:57 PM
Is there a place to order a stock 87 air deflector or will a fox mustang deflector bolt up?

I think the Mach I chin spoiler is what you are after.  Do a search on it and I am pretty sure Vinnie has one on his car.

Yes, I have a Mach 1 (2004 Mach 1 Mustang) chin spoiler on mine. It was basically a direct fit (well, almost). It needs to be installed with the front wheels off the car, as the spoiler will hit the tires. It also needs to be bolted on and some drilling will be necessary. Once it's installed, trim the ends off (I think about 5 or 6 inches per side), then drive your car. Mine got destroyed from ses once I lowered the car, but, I have a new replacement in the garage waiting to go on. I know to slow down on steep grades now. LOL.

Cool, thanks for the better option. I have a c4 transmission so when I run on the highway the car runs 10 degrees hotter than when I am street driving. My 87 is missing the air deflector so I figured adding one would fix that temperature difference. The mach 1 chin spoiler is definitely the better route for asthetics while also diverting the air to the rad.
