Ok, so I got a TC hood on my 87 LX bird and am curious , how can I cover or ''block'' the scoop inlets so rain and debri will not cover my engine..What have you guys done?
Unless your car does a lot of setting that shouldn't be a problem. The scoops were designed to create a vacuum and pull air out, not force air in. That's why there is never any buildup on the intercooler of a driven TC.
Check with Vinnie, he made a set for me when I had my XR7. They kept all the leaves and other crud from getting into the engine bay
make sure you clearance the ac brackets and your motor mounts are good, so you don't break the scoop.
I fabbed block off plates for a few hoods. They work well, and are a simple bolt on. No mods other than removing the TC air duct, which, for a V-6 or V-8 car I would assume has already been done.
Vinnie, What would you charge to fab., a set ?
$50.00 plus 5 for shipping.
