20th anny.... :D
some more...
needs work...
few more..
guess what I get to do..... :flip:
Yikes!!!!
Ha ha. . . needs a new heater core. It's not that bad though.
The car doesn't look too bad. Now I want a 20th :toilet:
Dude that car looks ugly as hell, good luck wit her!
she won't be when I'm done!! :tg: of course some purists will be mad about changing a 20th :flip:
Looking at that, there's nothing you could do to change it that would be a bad thing - you're actually doing 20th enthusiasts a favour by saving it
Ya know, I actually thought this was a pretty nice car :hick: , but I guess I was wrong   It only has a couple spots of rust on the pass. wheel well. It does need a new drivers fender, and a header panel but otherwise is real solid. Not too crazy about the screwy interior, but that can be changed. Hmmmm, maybe I should just :flame: it. It is originally a florida car. Besides for $200 It was a great bargain. :flip:
Just wait 'til you start working on that quarter panel
I've driven worse - what I meant was that it's too far gone to remain an "original" car
I've driven worse as well, and have junked cars with way less rust... But yea its definatly a project, would be too hard to find the 20th goodies to try to restore original...
Sorry... Guess I'm just spoiled by our rust free cars...
Well that was a bell ended comment.. :hick:
Congrats! I'm glad she found her way into good hands.
Since you're changing the interior and other stuff, will you keep the stock color once the rust repair is done?
Yes, I like that color!! :D
Me too! My first cougar was the same color. It also had the red interior (Take that Jcassity :hick: ). Sold it back to my parents after doing some minor mods to it because they needed a second car. They sold it to my stepsister's husband a year later who then wrecked it :toilet:
I've had two 87s, and they are both "sandalwood". I'm a little tired of sandalwood...lol. :hick:
not that bad. the quarter panel is a pain, and the heater core will be a good weekend workout, but not to bad over all. Straight body little rust, and if it runs you got a pretty good deal.
[Mr. Garison] YOU GO TO HELL! YOU GO TO HELL AND YOU DIE! [Mr. Garison] :flip:
Seriously though, Tom if there's such good sheetmetal over there, keep me in mind, I could use some rust free quarters for my bird. I'll even drive there to get them.
$200? Not bad at all. You're braver than I. I'd end up, as bad as it is, using the car for parts. Now if it was a 30th anny bird... I'd make an exception.
you mean like this one?!! :D
well the body is pretty solid, it needs a drivers fender and a header panel to be really straight. Also the motor runs great, I took it for a short spin, and the tranny shifts great :D . This car was assembled in 4/87, and sold 4/30/87 weird thing is my birthday is 4/30 :tg: guess it was meant to be.
Mmmmm. I got to see my first 30th anniversary in person the other day. A guy came into the gas station with a mostly-primered '85 Thunderbird, but I saw the blue grille poking out and knew what it was. I asked him about it, and as the story usually goes, he found it in an old lady's barn. Thankfully he was repainting it the same color. Next time I see him I should direct him to this site
I seen this one at the Thunderbird's 50th anny, at the Ford world headquarters. :D
Ok, first major mod. Got rid of the 4x4 look, much better now!! :D
Oh by the way, I also swapped out the door panela, don't really like the TC style panels :yuck: . Anybody interested in them, make an offer, Complete pass., driver just the panel. :D
I'm gonna cry..... :(
You and those purple turbines. :D
Aren't the special memory seat switch panels in the 20th door panels?
You found a keeper, that's for sure. I would have bought that for $200 in a heartbeat. Nice find.
I guess that was optional, because this car only has the "heated" seats, not the memory.
Yea lol, I'm gonna get some wheel paint and do something different with the turbines. :D
UHHH I dunno Joe, ran into some HEAVY rust the other day changing out the fuel pump in my nephews '87 Stang...

Ok, repainted my old "purple" turbines gunmetal.
and changed the "woodgrain" dash to colr changing paint, magenta/gold. Much better. :D
Comin along nicely! ;)
Thanks!! :D
I think you are doing one hell of a good thing to that cougar. It might not look the greatest. But think about it almost all of the show cars started out as a pile in worse shape than this cougar. I guess some people run there mouth before they ever put the BRAIN in gear. Most of the time these people lack the vision needed to complete even a small job like this cougar. I like what you've done to it so far and will be waiting to see what you will do next.I love that gray over that pruple. I'd rather drive a shiznitty looking bird or cougar than alomst any other newer car out there. I guess you just gotta have what it takes to be a fox body lover. I've got 3 I know all about it I will tell you the red one is for parts only. I broke my back in that one. any how Keep up the work
Thanks, yes I'm a fox body lover!!
i love the 4 eyes.
Well if you like the color.. then you should like my 84 5.0. All i need is a new master cylinder and a heater core hose.

I love this car and there is one hell of a story too. If you wanna know go to cardomain. But i love the color and i intend to repaint it the right way. Plus finish it all up.
Also love the color change paint.
