Just curious.
Thanks
Sunroof, or power moonroof?
The answer to both is 'yes'.
Flip up open air sunroof - optional on all trim levels
Power moonroof - production began approx. 3/3/86, late model year option, considered extremely rare
The factory sunroof got a special bag to hold it, if you removed it completely from the roof. The bag got suspended under the rear package tray in the trunk using hooks. That way, it left some usable trunk space underneath.
Thanks Eric.
I'm going to look at a '86 TC and I doubt NHRA would approve of the sunroof for Stock/Super Stock if it was not a factory installed item.
Ah. Well in that case, the factory sunroofs had a flip-up handle inside, and on the outside, two distinct round "rivets" about 1" in diameter at the pivot points.
Most aftermarket glass had rectangular rivets.
You should be able to easily tell a factory from an aftermarket one, but if you have doubts, snap a pic and post here, we'll help you out.
Thanks Eric.
Here is a craigslist pic showing the sunroof. (barely) I haven't called yet to get info.
Even if the sunroof is aftermarket, I probably could pass it off as factory. My guess is it is factory.
I see it has keyless entry. Maybe it was ordered loaded up.
If I buy it, the goofy side skirts, rear wing and aftermarket front bumper cover as well as the headlight covers all gotta go.
I have seen this car around town for many years now and it has always sat down in the back. No problem tho. I have some 87-88 TC springs for it.
From a distance it had decent looking paint. I never went over to check it out tho.
