Title: car won't start
Post by: FirstBird on September 17, 2013, 11:44:11 AM
So I had to make a quick stop at the bank before school. Get back in the car and turn the key and the solenoid? makes a pop sound not the usual clicking with a bad bat all electrical in car goes dead, no rsdio no lights nothing. Get out unscrew clamps take them off put them back on and car starts fine. I get to school shut off car and try to start it again and it won't start making the pop sound. Anyone experience something like that? Thanks

clean your battery terminals and make sure you are getting a good connection. I used to have a Ford Explorer that did this and it was the terminals. I like to leave my terminals loose, but snug, just in case the poopy hits the fan and I need to unhook the battery quickly. On the explorer it wasn't possible. they HAD to be tight or this was at least a 2-3 time a day thing

yup. two new cables will only cost you about $20 with new ends already installed. clean off the grounding point well.
