Ok here's a little history, i bought my car, and when i got it oil guage or temp didnt work.. i found that both sensors on the engine block where wrong.. they where for a car with dummy lights... im thinking the motor has been changed. recently i have started removing smog devices and im finding car runs a hell of alot better!! also the pcv in back of block, isnt the hole supposed to be open? i can insert a screw driver and it only goes in very little. im thinking its a older block non roller motor..im gonna look at head #s and block #s this weekend, when i install my headers and new exhaust...
if its original, then the block will be roller.
the pic has a screen in it. buy a new one and use a long drywall screw to remove the old one.
I am curious; Can a flat tappet cam even run with Ford's sequential fuel injection? I know the early EFI truck batch fire motors were flat tappet though.
What i do is pull the flame trap out and throw it in the GARBAGE and run the engine without it. Like Stacks says pull it out with a sheet-rock screw. I use an old rear main rope seal puller for that. Most of you probably wont know what a ROPE seal is ?????????????.
the more i work on this motor, im sure its been replaced, wrong temp and oil sensors, last weekend i deleted the EGR valve and the AIR pump ( installing headers this weekend hoses in the way) after doing this ive noticed smoother idle...alot better throttle response....more power...alot better gas mileage also. it seems the more i remove the better it runs lol...
Why remove the EGR VALVE and the air pump????
I removed EGR it wasnt holding vacumm properly, i removed air pump because all the hoses where in the way and the headers dont have connections to hook it up.
