Looks like the ignition has been changed... looks like the key that come with the cheap parts store ignitions.

I'm not seeing what you are seeing. The keys I see in the pictures look like the correct O.E. rubber coated keys to me.
I did notice that at least one tire has been re-balanced as the factory weights are not there, and the battery is not original but that is to be expected. I would like to have seen the date codes on the tires. ;)

Biggest question, why is there an exhaust leak? It seriously can't be rust...
I've been thinking myself to get a lower milage 5-speed TC before they're all gone. And this would be perfect. To be honest, way too perfect for me. I would like to modify my TC. This, it would be a shame to even change the wheels on it.

If it was started occasionally but not driven long enough to sufficiently warm everything up, a build-up of condensation could have accumulated in the bottom of the ler(s) and started rotting it out from the inside.

the key looks exactly like the key that came with the cheapest ignition cylinder autozone had for my first 88 t-bird

Yeah, if that was the case, it isn't good for the engine or many other parts on a car to do that. I had a neighbor who used to go out & start her car every week in the parking lot and run it long enough to smoke her cigarette then shut it off without ever turning a wheel.
It would have been better to have filled it full of gas & disconnected the battery and left it sit for those two years than to have done that in my opinion.

Nope they look factory to me. The Turbo Coupes had a balck rubber head on the key that said Turbo.
It sold for $10.5K. Not bad.

......The *screwed up* part is....the KEY anyway looks JUST like that for a generic lock-cylinder-and-key set from NAPA. My cylinder froze up, bought one of those, still haven't gotten around to just finding an OEM/takeoff cylinder and having it keyed to my key, so I've got that. And it looks just like those turbo coupe keys. No "Turbo" stamped in it though haha
