I've been trying to find an answer on this forum and on the internet without any luck. From what I have read the pressure regulator on my "86" stock 5.0 engine was to be set at 39 psi. Now that I have an "87" Mustang 5.0 HO engine with a stage #1 cam, dual exhaust, and MSD distributor, how do I know what my fuel pressure regulator should be set at? I found an adjustable BBK regulator and gauge that mounts to the rail. Now I need to know how to set it up properly. Thanks!
Just set it to 40. Its really not that critical.
That's exactly where it's at. Thanks!
With or without vacuum connected ??????????????????????????? Makes a big difference !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
43 with no VACUUM
All the Ford literature I've read on the '80s and early '90s SEFI systems state 39 psi, never have I seen 43...
the CFI FPR's are factory adjustable, just remove the top little freeze plug or the aftermarket replacement types with a plastic top to reveal the allen head adjustment.
you just cut off the mounting area of the FPR on a CFI and keep that part along with the FPR and you saved a lot of money.
they do not however take a vac line but thier design is very reliable.
That's good to know. Thanks!
