This is my new intake plate for my GT-40 intake. It goes from the throttle body, across the top, and down about 80% of the driver side with the FPV badge recessed into it.

lookin good Vinnie
Thank you Sir.
installed pics when you can. Looks nice.
I will as soon as I can. I intended to post some tonight after work, but the tiny man was here, then my wife's dog ran off and was lo0st. Now, screw working on thew car. LOL.
O.K., I was weak....filthy engine, but who cares? Body work starts soon. I may not use it forever, may change it to more of a factory style that I make, I'll let it sit and see if I like it. py night shot....

I had to google that fpv
I gotta ask why you use that logo ?
Other than its somthing different
i like it!! i like how you like to be different.....:hick:
I like something different. I don't want it to look like 30 other cars.
I'll have the engine detailed and back in order right before painting the car. For now, no point in it. Gotta get the new blue hoses, plug wires, and new valve covers on, new paint on the engine, and a lot more.
You painting the engine bay when you paint the sport vinnie?
That's cool
It's defiantly different .... :)
Yeah, I'd recommend this, but I could also easily turn a paint job into a 100-200 hour ordeal. Doing it right can also get ridiculously expensive with breaking or bending trim as it comes off, reproduction stickers, etc.
Fully stripping down the engine bay of everything for paint is no picnic either. Still a must in my book for any nice paintjob. I'm actually doing mine on my bird right now. I'll be in about 2-300 work hours by the time I am done with just the paint/body work on the car. :)
I'll do some work on the engine bay before I'm done. Not looking for perfection under there. It's a driver, and will get dirty. I don't want a garage queen. I expect some rock chips up front as well. Right now, I'm still collecting parts to do all this work. I have boxes piled up in the garage full of parts waiting for their turn to go on. New wheels are happening as well.
Tell me about it !! LOL I'm thinking I have close to 500 hrs and still counting with what I may do with my covers, hood, and trunk lid.
So Vinnie, what wheels are you switching to?, or is that one of those "Wait till you see it" deals :D I also like that cover!
I have a couple of ideas on wheels. haven't made a 100% sure decision yet. I have to process that stuff through my mind for a couple or three weeks.
No more 35th Anniversary Cobra wheels? I like the intake plate, looks really cool and unique!
I may keep my current wheels. I have a lot of planning and thinking to do.
I need a tubular GT40 upper. They just look so cool.
I have two of them. One on the car, and one on the work bench I use for making the plates. I actually like the Explorer intakes better. But for now, I'm leaving it alone.
True, it weighs almost nothing.
