when I was doing the 5.0 swap in my 88 TC I never found a wire for the oil level sender. I know that I could add the wire, but does anyone know the color code for the wire in the 5.0 harness? or has anyone ran into this issue before? I would really like to make the low oil light functional again.
On my 5.0 LX the wire is on the driver side near the shock tower (where the coil is). I believe it is near the wiring for the oil pressure gauge.
any chance you could get the colors of the wire for me?
I remember it being pink with a blue stripe. I can check for you when I go out to work on the car tonight.
Thanks, I'd really appreciate it :)
The 87 EVTM shows a dark blue/light green wire from the sender to connector C2001.
And a dark blue/light green wire from C2001 to the relay.

C2001--LH fender apr0n near dash panel. Gray 1 terminal connector.
Thanks, I will look into this when I get a chance to go out to the garage again.
gimmie a call later , 304 772 3411, ill be pokin around on the wifes ghia and i can check to color for you.
if you have it, it should be a single wire with a "pinch on/off" type connector. i was just staring at this sucker last weekend on my sons bird..... didnt think to get the color.
I've found a white with pink wire coming out of the dash harness, how would I go about testing to see if this is the right wire? keep in mind that my engine is not ready to start quite yet.
Scott, I will try to remember to give you a call next time I get a chance to go out there.
If you ground it, the light will go off.
It was either orange or pink with a light blue stripe on my 87 bird.
It's the other way around. Grounding it with the key on, turns the light on.
As soon as I get my fuel lines hooked up I will throw some power at it and see what happens.
On my old car woth digi dash, grounding stopped the annoying beep of the oil guage. buttstuffog must be different.
