I was just wondering if anyone has tried the muthr thumpr cam or big muthr thump cam for 302? Though I seen a listing on ebay for small block ford 302, my buddy has one in his 69 Camaro and it is pretty choppy but still pretty driveable. Just wondering how the ford one is...
Would you be running factory EFI? Depending on the lobe separation of the cam it may be a pain to get the car to run right. EEC-IV tends to like cams in the 112-114* lobe separation range. Anything less than 112* tends to make the computer cranky.
I am 100% positive the efi won't work with this cam carburetor only. This cam has a chug unlike any other cam I seen that isn't a custom grind. Just haven't heard of anyone using the sbf one. I have a spare 302 that I was planning on doing a small build on, nothing special, just something simple for my first complete engine rebuild.
With it you can pretty much kiss your vacuum assist on the brakes good bye also.
Maybe knot...I had great brakes on my 86 XR7 with 2.3 turbo....not always lots of
Vacuum there being boosted and all.

There is a trick for that, electric brake booster, works great! Got one for my drag car. The sbc thumpr cams seem to have alright vacuum for brakes, no issues with my buddies Camaro.
