I am working on getting together the pieces to put a 5.0 in my 86 T-Bird. What year Birds/Cougars (Mark VII ?) are the radiator, fan shroud and coolant bottle the same as an 86 5.0 T-Bird? Thanks.
In my 84, I ordered a HD 3row stock replacement rad and installed a Flex-a-lite 185 elect fan with a 52oz overflow bottle from Jeg's. This was 5yrs ago when I installed my 88 roller engine and so far so good. I did start with a V8 car though.
Thanks for the input. I will probably go with a factory replacement radiator. I was trying to find out what year and models with the 5.0 used the same shroud and coolant bottle as an 86 Bird with a 5.0. I would like to use the factory parts. But, if that plan fails I can always use some aftermarket parts.
86-88 Tbird/Cougars and 87-92 Mark VIIs use the same radiator, fan shroud, and coolant overflow bottle.
Thanks for the info. Now I know what to keep an eye out for when we finally get some warm weather and I can go scrounge through the salvage yard.
I just used the radiator, fan shroud, fan, and fan clutch all from an '86 GT Mustang. Was in the car for over ten years with no issues and you can order all of these brand new on the net. You would be better off with a Taurus fan and DCC Hi/Low switch setup for the fan but it might be more money. Buddy uses this on his 408W with a HD radiator and it holds up great in the August heat in Oklahoma.

I was curious if the Mustang shroud and fan would work on the T-Bird. Yeah, I have thought about an electric fan too. The Taurus fan would be a good fit. I run a Mark VIII fan on my Mustang with the 351C. It works great. It needs all the air flow. Thanks for the input.
