Title: Another ground effects kit
Post by: Cougars 2 go on June 17, 2005, 12:10:45 AM
I wonder if this is still available?  I'm not going to email them because I am not in the market for a kit so I don't want to jerk them around but maybe someone here is looking to buy a ground effects kit:

Should be the same kit. I believe this is the same as the Kobel/McK kit that disappeared a few years ago. Someone must be making them again.

No I don't think its the same kit, it says its a 4 piece kit.  I have the McK one on my cougar now that I f*cked up so I've been looking around for a new one.  I have found the McK one again through Bage auto, http://www.bageco.com, and its the same price as this kit but its an 8 piece kit, 3 piece front and 3 piece rear which I'm trying to avoid getting again.  I haven't come across this one yet I'll have to find out if they have an 88 Cougar or if they just have the 88 Tbird kit.  I'll find out more about it.  Thanks though, I've been going through hell trying to find one.

well I just noticed that aeromotive had the McK plastic for the cougar which is 8 pieces but for the bird they got the 4 piece fiberglass kit.  But looking again I think they make both kits for the cougar, i dunno im all confused.  I'll find out what the deal is.

Aeromotive has both kits, an 8 piece plastic kit which is the McK/Kobel kit and a 4 piece fiberglass kit for the cougar.  The fiberglass kit however has to be modified a little at the front center, my guess is that it was made for the bird but can be used with the modification.  It's probably the same for the bird but vice versa.

I think the modification they're talking about would be having to cut holes in the stock bumper to allow clearing for where the foglights go,

that grill has been for sale for so long prob because idk if its just me but i dont understand it, also the body kits for the tbird do require to cut the front bumper i basically just lopped mine off with a jigsaw in the front to allow my  bumper to fit, the rest of the car is usually all add on so for the most part youll just be tacking up over the stock parts
