The o-rings were dry rotted, and an engine fire waiting to happen for someone. I've been through that before, and wouldn't want that to happen to anyone else, so I always remove the old ones. You can get all the o-rings/caps/spacers you could ever want at RJM Injection Tech's website.

Yea that happens a lot I got a bag of 19's I stole all the rings and caps for some 24's 1/2 of them were trashed

You can find rings and caps on eBay cheap also
