Well I may have found a possible roller 87-88 TC thats in so much better shape than mine it makes mine look like $hit. Need to verify for sure the shape, but my buddy seen it in person about a month ago and siad it looks like its never been driven in the winter. Well he finally got back to us on a price today. $1000 down the road, 2 motors, 2 sets of rims with good tires and probably 2 trannys(not sure) Might possibly be more Im still a little unsure there. Of coarse still need to come up with the cash and check it out myself, but if I can this will definatly be a saved car. Got my fingers crossed thats its in the shape and I can come up with the $$$
Hope it's as good as it sounds and works out for you.
The same
Ive got my fingers crossed, in all reality if this TC is in as good of shape as Ive been told it would literally be a barn find!!! Its been sitting in there for a few years, the current owner has just lost interest in it. This all started after my buddy ended up over there and brought up that he knew someone that would possibly love to get their hand on it(me of coarse!! ). The wait for him to get back to us has just been killing me!! LOL Since about 5:00 tonight Ive been trying to figure out how Im gonna swing this!
Sweet! Good Luck!
Pics if you get it
Sounds exciting
Ill get pics when I get to look at it dont worry!!! Ive been known to notice things in pics that I didnt see in person(excitement I guess!! LOL). So I like to do them for back up later!
Well got to go see it. Its definatley gonna need brakes, but I checked like the bottom of the core support, back of the strut towers all rust free as far as I could tell. But temps being just above 0*F without the wind chill, I had to make it quick. Cloth interior, power moonroof, possibly fully optioned agian so cold I didnt have time to investigate everything. It looks like other than replacing stuff because of the time sitting, its in alot better shape than my red one. Heres a few pics, tell me what you think.

Build em both
It will buff right out
I wouldn't say no. What you don't or can't use can be traded for money. I don't mean sping either! lol
I say save it, and as mentioned, build 'em both. Hell, your red one..make it a 5.0 car, and restore this one. Just don't junk either of 'em. Just my opinion.
Yea no junkin
Id love to, but I dont have the $$ or space right now for 2 projects. If I cant find a way to keep both the red one will go up for sale to another Fox Tbird fan. I refuse to crush one of these anymore. I already lost one 10 years ago because I couldnt get a title for it.
Other than layers of dirt the paint looks decent other than some clear coat peel. If it needs just a couple hours of body work and a fresh coat of paint Id be happy. Im gonna see if I can go look at it agian when frost bite wont get me and its day light. Im also trying to decide if I think its worth $1000 as is.
Ya neither one will be junked like I siad earlier. The Turbo Coupes are just getting to hard to come by in restorable condition. Hell other than some rust repair the red one just needs a few more parts to be perfect.
That's a lot I would say
Are they firm at that price ?
Not sure yet, im kinda taking it slow with them since the car shouldnt be tried to be moved til the gound thaws a bit. I know it includes the engine, a fried auto trans, pedals for it to be switched to a manual, boost gauge, new clutch(I think), obviously the hood, and and extra nose. I think theres more but tonight I didnt feel like verifing what was all there.
Ok I thought it was just a roller ..........well if it had 2 more wheels lol
If you want it just try to get the best deal
As it sits yes its just a roller, I think they siad they actually have 2 full sets. Im working on seeing what the best deal I can get actually right now. Ive been texting with the brother of the actual owner. He's the one thats taking care of it right now. The brother actually had another one and totalled it, thats how they ended up with this one. He was gonna transfer the best/better stuff out of the wrecked one to this one.
He just hit me back he's gonna talk to his brother and see if he'll take less. Either way Im gonna wait til these below freezing temps lift a bit. I had ice on my go-tee in less than 5 mins out of the truck. Its cold right now, but seeing it even for the short time was killing me!! LOL
I hate the cold lol
I do now more than ever for some reason, 2 yrs ago I rebuilt my 4 wheeler in temps like this right after a hell of a blizzard!! Didnt faze me then.
I'm from ca though lol
I've Ben in others states -0 I can't stand it
You can send some of your warm weather this way!!!!
Yea teens is not warm to me lol
I think the highest I would go would be $800 for it with the extra parts. It can be nice again but it's going to take alot of work.
I'd offer him $500, and see what he says. If he says no, walk away, let him sit on it, and think about it for a few weeks. I bet he accepts in the end. Wouldn't be going any higher than 500 myself, with it needing so much work to be up to par again.
Not saying I would pay the $1000.00 he is asking for.....but when was the last time you have seen a rust free Tbird in this part of the country. Any car that has been sitting that long is going to have some issues and be a lot of work, no rust is a huge head start.
I agree whole-heartedly there, thats the main reason Im trying to talk him down atleast some right now. That and I have to keep the little wifey happy!!! Ive got a few other places to check on it that I couldnt or didnt want to get to that night for any rust, but as far as I could tell in the 5 mins I could stand the cold its a really clean car. And really the main work right away is all mechanical as long as theres no wiring issues.
Finally got to look at it agian and see what was included even in the trunk. Only rust I can find on the entire car is some spots of light surface rust on the underside. Extra parts included are a hood, header panel, and set of snowflakes. In the trunk is brand new 3G alternator(looks like an upgrade kit), New AutoMeter boost and pyro gauges, new K&N cone filter, new oil and fuel filter, new hoses, and a other odds and ends mostly new. Still trying to talk them down, but like I said it wouldnt happen til spring when things thaw a bit.
Keep us updated on what happens. Good Luck!
Especially with the extra parts you are getting, and a virtually rust free car, I wouldn't hesitate to give him the $1000. Wish that deal was in Virginia.
Ill definitely keep this updated. This offer was kinda thrown on my out of blue. I wasn't even looking for one , since I got my current one. After looking at it in person for the second time I really want to get it, things need to thaw first though since I dont want to chance damaging it getting it out of its resting spot.
Well on a good thing, me and the wife were talking. She siad if I get it we are going to keep the red one atleast for a while!!! I think as soon as I get some time Im gonna go over and see if I can get the front end off of the ground. That would mean I could get it sooner and get it back together.
Apparently Im still the only one interested in the car. They came to me and siad I could get it for $800 now!! Well down side of that is I didnt set money aside(things came up), so now Im trying to see if we can do some horse trading!! So theres still another chance to have another TC in the stable!
Looks like Im gonna be getting this really soon!!!
Its starting to get ready to come to its new home after the red one is on its way to its new home. First stop on its way home is gonna be the car wash though!!!
