Title: Power steering/Air Conditioning bracket (5.0)
Post by: Masejoer on January 14, 2013, 02:27:50 PM
I'm hoping that someone has a bracket that I can pick up. From what I understand, the Mustang ones are different and steel, and that I may need ours to use with our A/C compressors? Upcoming head swap makes me want to install one that isn't so ugly as what I have on the car now (imo).

You could just clean and paint the one you have. That's what I did. Does the Mark VII use the same bracket? The one on my Mark looks similar. If so I know the local yard has two Mark VIIs in it right now.

We were working with many powdercoats when I refinished it years back and I wasn't thinking ahead of what black base with candy red would look like. It's plum. Also while ours is aluminum and I don't think it's what is causing the problem, some shop some years back said that the bracket was bent. The power steering and AC pulleys ARE off a little bit but I also don't see how the thing could be installed slightly pen 15eyed. For all I know the heat from powdercoating COULD have caused the issue. It was fine during the prior two installations.

I figured it's easy to just start with a fresh bracket and go from there. Then I'll have everything I need for a head swap in a month or so. Also going to use a march alternator bracket to get rid of the stock tensioner design. Mine seized up a couple years back and to get it back on the road, I had to buy an overpriced aftermarket unit that is .

Planning ahead makes life easy.

I assume they would work as a pair, but I was unable to find for sure. I assume it lowers the AC down a bit.
