Title: My 88 TC
Post by: STANG8U on December 20, 2012, 10:17:51 PM
Trying not to turn this into a project car but every car turns out that way

I bought it for my wife to drive to collage but I really bought it for me the heavy mods won't come till she is out

The car currently has dual flows msd coil short shifter bbk fuel reg. cone filter in the fender boost controller 255 in tank saleen front breaks ss break lines drilled rotors on all 4 corners

Only issue is bucking above 10 psi of boost fuel pressure is at 40 psi no vacuume

I have it at 10 now and it drives fine ..... I'm not to worried at the moment seeing as ill most Likly turn the boost down a bit for the wife lol

Future mods a off road 3" exshast  and lowering it ... I will go crazy down the road

Day after I got it at the gtr car show lol

Nice car...

What is your plug gap??? The stock coil won't fire plugs at more than approx .038-.040... I dunno what a MSD will do, but the Crane coil I had couldn't fire plugs in my 5.0 at .045 using a 75Hp nitrous shot, was happy set down to .035...

Looks like a nice clean car.

I heard to use only Motorcraft ignition pieces on the 2.3T, plugs cap rotor wires coil.  Maybe start there, after you check the codes, of course.

Nice. I'm gonna be mounting my gauges in the same place, when I get ready to install gauges. Already have my boost gauge mounted in the hole where the stock clock used to be, and yea that stock oil pressure sender and the fitting, is a royal bitch to get out of there in that tight space. I waited until I had the head off on mine, and then took a 4ft long prybar to it, lol.

I first did a pre test and passed by one point with cheap 91 ..... Hc blew a 77 out of a max of 78

So I mixed 5 gallons of good 91 and a gallon of e85 and went back hc went down to 66

Car looks great!

Move to the Carolina's, you can get away with just about anything on old cars here. The majority of people here don't even run Cats anymore. Of course being buddys with the inspection tech doesn't hurt. :D

I still have to find somebody around here who can repair my first gear in my T-5. It pops out violently when you let up on the clutch. My replacement is doing good, but I want my other one fixed. I may have to learn how to do it myself.

It sits 1/4" lower in the rear no big deal right now I used upper and lower isolators in the rear and just the upper up front should have left that out and it would be perfect
