they don't make any patch panels for these cars...at least that I ever saw, or found...

your gonna need to cut that out and weld new metal in that section

Looking good.  I had the same rust-out, but in a 67 Mustang.  I fixed it the same way, by patching, welding, filling, grinding and finishing.  A LOT of work, but the results were outstanding.

347 is that the epoxy primer there in the picture?  I guess you spray epoxy primer first then body filler?

No its self-etching primer, after the repair, I put dura glass over the welds then finish bondo

If they have to pull the rear window, and repair rusted-out sheetmetal, then yea it will be up there.

You pay a certain premium to own an old car, and rust-repair usually part of it.

Do you weld or know someone, I pulled my own window, and had a welder from my farther in law.

the right side did real good I think, my very first time does this body work stuff
X

The left side had a spot that lifted, I sanded the whole back panel under window before laying any body filler or painting any filler primer, but did not do any work right there, i think its from the other body work that was done, a small dote keep popping up so I pushed it in and then the old paint peeled right up.  IDK!

I made the metal as close to the shape as I could then I used duraglass, then bondo after I laid trim on top and marked it took off and sanded by hand, on the flat spots I used a block hope this helps
