Title: '86 Cougar GS with Unusual Modifications
Post by: cougarcragar on October 24, 2012, 08:55:46 AM
http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/3360583620.html

Listed as XR-7 but is clearly a GS with an XR-7 front bumper. I wouldn't call it loaded (as most sellers are likely to do) as it isn't equipped with illuminated entry, cornering lamps, keyless, etc.

Appears to have dealer-installed parts but they chose to retain the original wheels. I suspect it was customized when it was new and then put in storage.

Front good; rear bad. :fart:

I don't think "Unusual" is the word you were looking for.  "Unfortunate" maybe?

Never liked the "Continental" kits on these cars.  Lose the kit and add some nice wheels and you have a really nice car there.

Classy! I agree about continental kits on these cars though, especially with the spoiler on there.

I always wonder how some cougars make it to this day and age still rocking the wire hubcaps... I am all about keeping things original, but every cat that I bought with steelies and cappies was hidden in the garage until I could find anything else to put on :)

I'd rock it out as is.

The spoiler and ground effects don't look bad but the continental parts and wheels rims would have to be changed out. Spoiler is a little too big for the car though.

Hell the only thing needed to make it look even more odd is to throw a set of 24" wheels on it!
