I'm sick of the public fascination with celebrities. They are the "shiny objects" that keep people from thinking about anything of substance and importance. Whether or not you agree with what's going on in other parts of the world, there are people out there dying and killing in our name, yet the average person on the street thinks they can just slap a ribbon on their trunk lid and go back to worrying about what "Jacko the whacko" may or may not be doing. F'k him. Put a bullet in his head for all I care. Unfortunately the public would just find some other empty-headed nutjob to put on a pedestal and then go out of their way to knock off of said pedestal.

Let's see, he never MADE any of the children come to his place.  The childrens parents allowed them to visit despite past allegations brought against him.  Innocent or not, any parent should know to keep children away from him...  Even if they were false accusations, who cares?  He probably either paid someone off or had a really good lawyer or both.  I don't really care either way.  He's just plain psycho.

they couldnt put him in jail, he'd be teaching inmates the moon walk, and be singing "why does it feel like, somebody's watching meeeee" while he's on the toilet by his cellmate

I can't say I'm surprised either - even though can't stand the eunich and I'd never let my kid anywhere near the whacko (or any other whacko), I don't think he did it. It was an extortion attempt gone horribly wrong, and nothing more. The child's mother's next step will probably be to put a finger in her bowl of Wendy's Chili.

Personally, I think Whacko Jacko should sue her hole off. He's got plenty of reason to: Defamation, false accusations, lying in court, etc - all of this cost Jacko a buttload of money, did irrepairable damage to his reputation (such that it was), destroyed any chances of him ever reviving his career, and put him through no small amount of stress. The woman should be made an example of.

Cases like this are why the entire world laughts at the American justice system.

I fully agree, but if they changed it so the plantiff(if they lost) had to pay the defendants fees, there would be so many lawyers out of work it would probably start a resession... :rollin:

Still it would probably be worth it...

In civil court you need to show the defendant MOST LIKELY commited the act.
In Criminal Court you need to show BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT THAT the defendant commited the act.  So basically in other words.....
Civil Court 60% Chance the person did it.
Criminal Court 95% chance AND no other viable suspects

Side note: in Canada the probability, in a cival court, must be "fifty percent plus one" (meaning one vote).  So here it is even easyer to convict.
