is there and difference between the 87-88 TC Clutch pedal vs Mustang and 83-86 TC clutch pedal? I know there has been some talk but can anyone lay down some facts on this? Thanks
Differences in the pedal itself? or how it "fits" in regards to the TC's pedals?
The mounting is identical, just the actuation style is different, hydraulic vs. cable..
When I pull my dash out to fix my wiring disaster, I'll get pics for ya.
I mean, can you use the 87-88 TC style with a cable setup?
I would have to answer "no" to that. I was taught that you need a clutch pedal assembly from a Fox Mustang.
No. You need a cable pedal assembly.
NOPE!!!!!! They have a brand new replacement hydraulic setup now on the market to replace the cable setup. This fits mustangs as well. The 87-88 TC pedal is different than a cable job.

Here is the comparison. Top cable Bottom HYDRAULIC. Different setup. I stock both kinds.

I really need to get my hands on the Cable type....

Tom,
Very informative link!
G, you might see if there's any Foxes being parted on the corral..
Bookmarked. Big time.
I'm in no hurry, just planning for next year.
That McCleod set-up is the way I want to go, but I might have clearance issues because of my DOHC engine. The Twin-disc clutch is sweet too.
My pedal assembly came from a 4 eyed 4 banger Stang. No issues.
finding a mustang in a yard here is impossible...
If you're not in a super huge hurry, I've got the pedals you need in my stang...no need for them with a C4 when i do the 460 swap..
I was thinking the same thing. I will likely do the clutch, but I think the hydraulic clutch is going to cause me clearance issues with the Coyote. I am already planning a hydroboost setup for clearance reasons and as much as I would like to use hydraulics, I think it might be asking a bit much, without some serious firewall/pedal surgery.
I yanked the pedals for my '83 from a Fox Mustang and paid $30 for them back in the day. http://www.car-part.com is a nice tool.
