Title: Steering column

What is purple wire by it self on plug, blue wire, but share plug with black wire?  I put this column in from 84 cause it had tilt.  Any idea what those are for?  Everything else plugged right in.

Should be the key-in ignition chime wire for the ignition lock cylinder.

then that connector has had an evolutionary change,, that connector is really way too big for the chime,, although it does make sense it would be

Well I did plug in a single wire from coloumn to dash area.  I pulled this column from an 84 with tilt and cruise on the wheel.  I do not have cruise on my 83 so I don't know if its for that or the chime.
