Does a 5.0L engine in an 86 or 87 Lincoln Mark VII have the same accessory mounts/brackets as a 5.0L in an 86 or 87 Thunderbird?
yes
No. The power steering pump bracket is the same, but the alternator bracket, while looking the same at a glance, actually houses a larger case alternator.
I believe there was a belt difference, as well as different A/C lines.
Pretty sure Vinnie has it right...
i used an H.O mark VII engine in my Blue Bird I used to have. Couldn't figure out why my alternator fit on one 5.0, but not the other, then I figured it out. The Mark had a bigger alternator.
Thanks for the input everyone. Can you use the T-Bird alternator bracket in conjunction with the other Mark VII brackets? Is the alignment with the pulleys is the same?
Yes, those brackets can work together.
Cool, thanks. Both the Thunderbird and Mark VII brackets looked similar but wasn't sure if they were the same or not. Do you know if the Fox Mustang 5.0L Accessory brackets align with the Thunderbird and Mark VII brackets or can be used in conjunction with the Thunderbird or Mark VII brackets? The Mustang alternator bracket looks very similar to the T-Bird/Mark VII bracket but the Mustang power steering/air conditioning brackets bolt up differently.
Yes, the EFI Stang brackets will also interchange as well. The Alternator bracket on the Stangs is the same as ours. The a/c-steering pump brackets are totally different, but can be used on our cars as well. The belt will line up fine.
Ok, Thanks for the info.
