Title: Looking for brackets and pullies....
Post by: vinnietbird on September 14, 2012, 09:36:38 PM
Looking for the factory a/c-power steering bracket and the alternator bracket for a 5.0. Also, stock pullies. The alternator pulley isn't necessary, but the crank, steering pump, and waterpump pulley if possible.Cheaper the better. trade, whatever. let me know.

I have those 3 brackets right now from an SO 5.0, which came out of an '87 Crown Vic. Not 100% sure if they are the same as the 5.0 Fox configuration though. If they are lemme know, and I'll dig em outta my parts bin and get some pics for you.

The Crown Vic uses different pieces. I appreciate the offer though. A lot.

I have no disc parts at all. I wish I did. I'd be glad to pass them along. I need the brackets and associated pieces...bolts, tensioner, and a/c pieces (not the big black steel brace up front or the steel "rod" braces). What do you think you can get them for?

Let me check the 90 mustang I pulled my motor out of at Dad's the brackets might just be laying on the ground, I also think I have the front pulleys from a 2000 explorer but they are a bit different. V8 Ranger guys want them cause it bring everything super close to the motor. Will be this weekend before I get a chance to look.

I'm just wanting stock T-Bird/Cougar stuff. The alternator bracket from the Stang 5.0 would work, but not the a/c stuff.

Vinnie, what do you need yet, I found a 87 TB last weekend , engine and everything was in it, If it's there tomorrow I'll grab what you need, I know pulleys are 5 bucks, i don't see prices for brackets but I'm sure there cheap, Let me know. It was pretty intact last Sunday,if anyone else might want something.

I need a waterpump pulley,Crank, and steering pump. And the alternator bracket, and the power steering/ AC bracket pieces (No compressor, but the rest....bolts to if you can). I'll also take the throttle cable bracket and water pipes from the lower if you can get them. And, a trunk mat if it still has one in decent shape. Thanks Kitz !!!

My short list....

Timing pointer
brackets and the fasteners
pulleys
water pipes for the lower intake
throttle cable bracket
5.8 distributor with the TFI on it (or a place for the TFI if the TFI is missing)

A 94 and newer F truck with the 5.8 will have the distributor you need. Has to be newer though, otherwise the gear won't work with the roller cam. ( i think)

One with a steel gear would be what you seek. Also, the oil pump drive shaft...5.0's use a shorter shaft I believe, as well as smaller. I've got two different sizes in my pile 'o motors, and I only have 5.0 and 5.8 stuff.

I know I don't have any TFI dizzy's for a 351w though.

Thanks Beau. The distributor was the only thing missing from the engine when I got it.

I *may* go to the yards next weekend...if I go, and meet a 5.8 truck, I'll nab the dist for ya.

9 wires, a TFI connector, and a bolt, and one yank, and it's outta there. I even have a magnet tool to fish out the oil pump shaft lol, provided it doesn't drop into the pan..

TFI connector? It just plugs into the TFI on the side of the distributor like our 5.0 does. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying. I don't want to go to a remote TFI.

I checked for you in 3 different yards today, during my run earlier. Only found one solitary fox Cougar, and when I popped the hood the 5.0 was already gone. Didn't find anything that I needed either. Fox shiznit is getting  hard to find....

Yep, super hard to find, and still has no actual cash value. I wish somebody would start making a few aftermarket pieces.

vinnietbird are you still looking for pulleys and brackets? I have a throttle cable bracket from a fox body Mustang 5.0 which is identical to the 86 T-Bird one I found except for a small opening at the TV cable hole. I have a water pump pulley and crank pulley from a Mark VII 5.0. I also have an alternator bracket from a Fox body Mustang 5.0 but the ears for the air pump have been cut off.
