Why is it that all four of my '88 Thunderbirds' VIN's start with 1FABP...?
(And yes, all are/were true '88 model year cars)
Or was that a Cougar only thing?

this is likely the decode, done by a member over at 4 eyed Forums....

0687 = body & paint rotations #0687
155895 = consecutive unit number
S63C
1Q = Silver Metallic Clearcoat exterior paint color
BE (something to do with keyless entry ??)
EL
PW (power windows ??)
DKE1E
PA (power antennae ??)
FT
CL (climate control aka automatic temperature control air conditioner ??)
HF
EB = leather "Sport" seating (E), Midnight Blue interior color (B)

EL=Electroluminecent coach lamps?
FT=Front Floor mats?
KE=Keyless Entry?
HF=??
