Title: Parts that fail!!!
Post by: TOM Renzo on August 10, 2012, 03:04:52 PM
Well as i rebuild the midnighter i found an issue. One of the HLA lifters failed big time!! But with a cam in the 550-600 lift range i am not surprised. Here is what happened. The top broke off and this is sort of common on a HP 2.3. I have no idea why this happens to date. As the plunger does not ride that high??? Very frustrating. Also this is a standard body lifter!!

As you can see the body was modified by me so a performance cam could be used by shimming the lifter. I started doing this before the lifters were even available. Below is the MOD!!

The Midnighter has hefty springs. But that could be an issue!!
