Title: keyless entry problem

the 3-4 key on the num pad does not respond have had two pads both did the same thing. Is this a common problem and how can i fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would tell you since you have two key pads doing the same thing prob not the key pad. I would trace the key pad wiring from the key pad to the keyless entry control module. Checking every plug along the way, including the one that plugs into the back side of the keypad. If everything seems to check out that way not heated up ,burnt flaky plastic connectors, py used up terminals inside the plugin/connectors, corrosion. I would break out a continuity tester and test wire/s from the 3-4 key pad back to the control unit for continuity. I'm not ruling out the pad and I have no idea if the 3-4 button shorting/going bad is a common problem. Just thinking two different parts of the same part and both do same thing wrong!
