My engine let loose a couple months ago and I finally got a chance to put it back together this weekend. It was spewing oil and water and blowing grey smoke. I pulled it apart and replaced the head gasket. I looked over the head and the block and it looked like it may have been rebuilt not to long ago. I dont think the block is cracked as it was still holding water. Anyway, I cranked it back up today and it just drained the radiator straight to the oil pan. I filled up my bucket and there is still a lot left. I can only think the head is cracked? It is leaking badly from somewhere around the hardline on the drivers side where it hooks to the oil pressure sender. Any ideas?
Maybe you screwed up the intake gaskets, it happens.
hmmmm, how so? I will take a look, but oil AND coolant?
Doesn't the intake gasket separate coolant from the lifter valley? A leak there would let coolant into the valley, then down into the pan. Didn't you have to pull the intake to swap the head gaskets? Wait, you have a 2.3, don't you? Ignore me for now, I'll go think about it more.
You put the head gasket on backwards. The gasket says front UP.
It has that oblong hole on the one side doesn't it?

Thats about all i can think of. When doing gaskets always research and check the gasket for instructions. I hope that is it. Because the oil hole is right below the sender on the head!! And the water jacket is most likely open to the point where it leaks out. GOOD LUCK!!
