LOL.
Id does sound like what every ricer out there does when they pass a mustang going the other way. Nine times out of ten they will rev at your door so the bov vents. They must think it's cute or something.

Right foot on the floor, hard on the gas, hey! Well, there ain't no traffic, but I can't pass, no! So I tried my best drafting move A big head-wind came up and crushed my groove again!
CHORUS: Go on & write me off for how slow I drive In rushhour I don't know if I'll get out alive Take my balls I've got no pride, I can't drive 85! Oh No! Uh!
So I slammed my boot screamin' gimme more, hey! I got my foot on the floor, there ain't no more Going to run my ass off the side-a-the road" They look me in the eye as they, blow right past And they laugh, Oh yea!"
CHORUS II: Go on & write me off for how slow I drive In rushhour I don't know if I'll get out alive Take my balls I've got no pride, I can't drive 85! Oh, yea!
I can't drive 85! (four times) Uh! (Solo)
When I drive that slow, you know it's not for fear, And I can't do better, there's no second gear. What used to take two hours now takes all day. Huh - It took me 16 hours to get 'cross L.A.!
CHORUS: Go on & write me off for how slow I drive In rushhour I don't know if I'll get out alive Take my balls I've got no pride, I can't drive 85!
No, no, no, I can't drive...(I can't drive 85!) I can't drive... (I can't drive 85!) I can't drive 85!

For me it's the holier than though hippie liberal flakes that drive them. I'm betting you don't see them down in Texas like you do in say, Cambridge. Nothing at all wrong with a fuel efficient car imho.

Are you kidding me!!!! Does she not know that her shiznit box PRIUS uses more energy to make discard and run than a HUMMER. WOW those two people have real control. I dont know if i would have held my composure. One day JR had the Mustang idling in a perking lot waiting for his girl friend. Some guy bent down on the passenger side with his hand on the roof and told JR he was polluting his air. Well JR politely said his car is federally and state emission clean tested and certified for the state. Hhe explained this to the HIPPIE. With that he explained to the HIPPIE if he did not get his FUC$%^ hands of the paint he would be getting his teeth KICKED IN. Now JR has a very short fuse and works out every morning. Not bragging but the kid is a powerhouse. Needless to say he is not one to be a candidate to go to jail. But one never knows.

Well for what it is worth . These HYBRIDS and electric cars are a FARCE. They actually pollute more than a conventional car or for that matter a truck. If you take in to consideration the amount of energy it costs to build make and disgard one they use more enfrgy than a HUMMER> WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
If yiu ever have seen a PRIUS in a very Very minor accident you would know what a piece of garbage they are. Every weld in the car pops and by the way if their are any FIRE FIGHTERS out their explain to the audience how you guys need special training and equipment and foam for these oversize GOLF CARTS they call cars!!!

The main idea against hybrids is this: diminishing returns. Emissions aren't really any lower when you go back far enough, you're just moving the point of emission from the tail pipe on the car to exhaust vents at the (usually) coal fired power plant. In the mean time, China controls most of the worlds supply of rare earth minerals (such as neodymium) so the cost of producing a powerful enough motor that's acceptably efficient is stupid high(compromise). After that, puppiesan (or puppiesanese owned corporations) controls most of the worlds advanced battery technology and it's expensive to license (and even more expensive to innovate new tech). Additionally, high voltage batteries mean high voltage cables running throughout the vehicle, and by high, I mean 240 to 370 volts depending on the car. HV cables pose a significant danger to firefighters who may need to extract a person from the mangled mess of their engineering compromise (less weight, greater efficiency; less weight, weaker structure) and then there's the greater fire hazard of the battery chemistry involved. I could keep going, but you get the point. Electric cars are coming and they're going to take over, but it won't be soon. The tech just isn't there to make it practical. Neither in cost or in operation. And I still like my V8. A lot.

You know On other forums there are like buttons. I wished we had one on here Id have liked the $hit out of that RAPTOR's post. 6.2 liters of @$$ kicking power that cleans the air as you drive it!!!!!! On another note, if that fat lady had used that language in front of my daughters with my wife standing near by................ Id have had to bail my wife out of jail.

Someone needs to tell the holier-than-thou Prius lady about the environmental impacts of nickel mining. Over the lifetime of a Prius (from manufacture to junkyard/recycling), it pollutes the environment just as much as any gas guzzler SUV. It supposedly cost a bunch more to recycle the parts and pieces of a Prius than a regular car.

Well, I despise them also. I'm not however going to (over)compensate by driving a gas-guzzling, smoke belching monster.
I'd also drive a VW bus before I'd drive a Prius.

I agree. I agree with everything said in here. But Chuck, you'd have to grow your hair to properly rock a VeeDub camper...and get a bit ole peace sign tattoo...jus' sayin' lol
Has there been a study done to see whether from creation to the end of a vehicle's lifestyle, also counting fuel costs per, which is less harmful on the environment in the end?
This counts recycling and stuff as well. I mean, how many Prius owners are gonna go to the junkyard to find a bumper or steering wheel center?
I could go on, but all the points have been made already...a properly tuned and maintained V8 Fox Tbird for instance will not put a terrible amount of hydrocarbons. How much does that coal fired power plant produce? Nuclear waste doesn't go away very ed fast either.

until you create a program funded by the tax payers at a cost of 24K each to pull "clunkers" off the road and stuff people that otherwise couldn't afford a loan for a new car, into a new car (many of which have defaulted). All the while destroying the traded in "clunker" robbing it from many of it's useful parts for those of us who wish to maintain our "clunkers". or how about the, what was it, 250K per unit POS Volt funded by the tax payers. It's a gaffe. All of it.

I guarantee that of the cars made this year, there will be more "normal" cars still on the road in 20 years than there are Prius, etc. How many Prius owners know how to properly maintain a vehicle?
