Title: 1984 Thunderbird Elan with buttstuffog cluster
Post by: MY83T on June 24, 2012, 11:13:31 PM
I have never seen a 83/84 Heritage/Elan with a buttstuffog cluster, and this supposedly a one owner car.  Very interesting.....

Them's some nasty-ass seats. Ick.

The electronic cluster required a black steering column and steering wheel, so...looks like that's legit.
It is odd but as long as it was an option, there you go. Just uncommon, that's all.

Years ago I had an 84 Elan with those guages, but I seem to recall it had a different steering wheel. Can't recall much about that car, but I remeber the guages. Haven't seen another one in person with them since.

The only possibility for the wheel, is that it was a 83 model year wheel that was swapped, or perhaps some very early production 84's got the 83 Wheel.  84-86 all had the same steering wheel except for the Thunderbird "bird" logo.

Just found a 84 Elan with the buttstuffog cluster.....never seen a leather seat car with a buttstuffog deal, the amount of option variations on these cars is astounding.
