Title: Quick 5 lug question
Post by: Dan B. on June 21, 2012, 11:01:53 PM
I'm getting the pieces together for a five lug swap....mainly doing this just for the better wheel selection.  Can't find ANY four lug wheels that I just can not do without.  So I've located a set of SN-95 axles for my TC rear...not worried about the rest in the back.

On the front......can I just swap the CA/spindle/rotor/caliper assembly and retain the stock strut?

Yes, but most likely you'll have to put a spacer between the strut and spindle where they bolt together.

To elaborate, the strut mounting point on the 10" spindles is about 1/4" wider than that of the 11" Fox spindles and the 94-04 stuff.

Forgot to mention that all my front ends brake parts are all TC...CA, struts, spindle, etc.

Then they will drop on.

You might need to fiddle with brake hose fittings, but the hard parts will bolt on.

I had the adapter to connect the TC/Stang 5.0 rubber flex hose to the Tbird hard lines, but when I put on the SN95 calipers, I had to take the fitting off, as the flex hoses for the newer calipers match the hardlines.
