Title: Cougar-Thunderbird wiper arm replacements
Post by: 88cougar5_0 on April 20, 2012, 12:11:01 PM
So my wiper arms are either bent, or the springs are fatigued enough they dont push the blades against the windshield enough to do anything anymore.

Can the dorman wiper arm for mustangs be used on both sides? Or does it have to be the specific ones for the Thunderbird/Cougar? Does ANYONE make new replacements for these?

I was curious about this same thing - are there wiper arms that can be used on our cars? Pretty sure that is what causes chattering on my car since it only does it at speed. Happens even when cleaned, polished, and waxed. I will be watching this thread.

Arms can be used from Thunderbird, Cougar, Mark VII. Don't think other Ford ones are exact matches.

In all my years I've never run across a bad arm from normal usage. Wrecks, intentional bending, etc., yes.
You could always heat up the arm with a torch and bend it...

I've never owned a Cougar that had chatter-free wipers.  I've had seven but one doesn't count because I don't remember ever driving it in rain.
