I gave up on social networking before it was cool. Myspaces sucked, facebook is worse. There's a reason I quit talking to all those people from highschool.

I use it mainly to network my other website and set up meets and whatnot.  The group pages are a good way to do this.

I saw my wife doing it and she kept telling me about all the people she was finding......I was like (read with deep tones of sarcasm) "oh...wow....ain't that just fan-friggin-tastic"......ugh.
