Post by: Jmoore87 on March 20, 2012, 10:58:12 AM

I'd say rip off what you can, DA sander after that. Better ideas may come up, but I'd think your choices are limited.

Ill put up some pics this evening when i get home. Some body in my old complex cut half the blue cloth off my car. So instead of replacing it i'd rather remove the entire vinyl top.

Quick questiin. When i remove the top off my car there will be a bunch of little holes from the screws that held it in place. Whats the best (or easiest) way to fill or cover thoses holes?

if you want a quick, temporary fix, use jb weld.. i'd recommend denting a small area around the hole, so you can sand it and spray some primer or paint over it.. i wouldn't recommend this as a permanent fix.. permanent would definitely be weld them, grind down the weld and spread just a touch of filler over them to smooth everything out

it's some sort of butyl.... razor blade looks like it will work... keep it flat to the surface, and it shouldn't dig into the paint

if a ravor blade still digs into the paint, try a plastic putty knife/ser.. it may leave a little behind, but you should be able to get the last of it off with acetone

i'd put some in a spray bottle, spray it on there and let it sit for a minute.. then with a little elbow grease, it should come right off.. it'll probably leave a little residue behind, but you can just spray it again and wipe it down to get the last of it
