Title: illiterate people and hondas..
Post by: Shadow on March 16, 2012, 07:48:15 PM
is it a requirement to be illiterate to own a honda? i'm beginning to believe it is.. i joined a honda forum a while ago, so i could cruise/post in the classifieds and PM people about junk they're selling (mostly turbos and turbo parts) and someone called me a ninja.. wtf is that supposed to mean? lmao.. i'm a bit buttstuff about proper english and literacy, but this just takes the cake on ebonics and dumbfounded wording

anyway, this is the forum, loaded with illiterate.. 'ninjas..' lmao

yeah, but it's not coming from EVERY member, it's actually very seldom i see such poor grammar as seen on that honda forum.. so it's easy to tolerate and read lol i stopped buying hondas to flip because of the people i was forced to deal with on the phone/in person lmao.. ninjas..

This.  As well as other domestic car forums.

The "not giving a " about grammar and punctuation knows no bounds.  Irritating.

Guys just for the record i have that issue myself. I see words backwards. So making sentences is difficult for me. My girls gave me this computer with a program that corrects it to some degree. But my spelling and choice of words are sometimes Horrible. So dont judge all of them it could be a handicap issue. Just saying. Thanks

no offense meant to be directed towards you, tom.. as long as a lot of your posts are, you'd have to be a literary scholar to not make a few mistakes lol but the honda sites, it's not a disability for most.. it's just complete ebonics jibber jabber

I also have the same problem, Tom, and I tend to spell them backwards too. Sometimes I will also say a sentence in reverse.... and takes quite a bit of time just to type something like this. My Mac spellchecks really well, but doesn't help with punctuation and capitalization.... I have to wing that

Dude I'm about 99% sure that being called "ninja" was auto-correct's choice to replace "puppies"

You know years ago when i went to catholic school. The NUNS thought i was a wise guy. Reason being my Handi cap as we both have so you can relate 100% to our spelling and grammar. Till i die i will always believe SISTER MARY RAYMOND INVENTED THE STICK BALL BAT!!!! She used to wail on me with it because back then no one thought of it as a handicap. But when they diagnosed me with it i went all the way in my education and people now understand what it is. I have the same issues as you with correcting and correcting my posts. Thank you for sharing that. It is actually good to know others understand. PEACE.
