and here it is...............coming home soon to wv
cant have another bird till she gets this.........so that means the one that i want in Va beach (if still available) may have a chance.
I always like the Ghias. So when can we expect pics of your new Bird?
Shucks, I was hoping for a Mustang Ghia...
x3. I think I've been in Fox-land too long.
Thats a cool old VW man. Should be a lot of fun for her.
That will turn some heads. Is your wife familiar with the road manners of a car like this?
Its an ebay car, we tried they buy it now option with payment set at visa ect (no paypal for me).
Payment was declined, i suppose the rules somewhere mandate your payment "must" be linked to paypal.
Contacted the seller and wire transfer is the way we are going. 5700.00 Not bad on one of these "last chance deals" from Arizona. Told the wife she needs to find a car forum on these, its a 69 Ghia.
Neat old car... sure don't see many going down the road in the opposite lane lol.
I thought it was gonna be a Mustang also haha. Those Karmann Ghias are nice looking cars, congrats.
Nice score!
I've entertained the thought of buying one of those over the years. Neat car.
Having it here seems like forever, monday we gotta do the first money transfer then set up transport for another 1k hopefully.
She wanted an Audi TT, then decided on this. She's smart, she figures this car wont be so mechanically challenging. In her words,,, "theres like 12 wires in the whole car!"
Im sure i have to figure out a way to get more heat off the exhuast for the sake of comfort, thats what ive been told.
Nice Ghia, I played with a few bugs back when, last being a Baja bug in the mid '80s...
Check this out. Have you seen these conversions before?

Pretty neat Scott....Good luck
Travis
most of these cars get 28mpg on thier most popular 34hp motor which we have. superior in efficiency if you ask me for the hp/mpg ratio.
that setup eleminates heat which 80% of the the serious drivers of thier vintage cars need. my Ghia has wayyy too much heat. i figured out what all you need to do to make it work correctly so the lazy asses out there who says bugs dont have heat are full of it. such a simple system.
i like the conversion though, and his math is dead on with respect to the return on investment. its almost arguable if gas goes down to 2bucks a gallon if we take the max distance out of the equasion.,, which to me isnt an opiton.
ive never understood why with such a converstion kit a 4wheel recharge system isnt employed. ,,, ,, one of the first things i would solve before hand.
but like the add says, buy the car so you feel good about yourself.
