I didn't see a thread for this so I figured I would start one. I visited the junkyard here one last time before we move next week and found a few new Foxes there. I'll miss having a paved junkyard will lots of Foxes for sure!
I picked up a few good parts but will not be putting them up for sale until after we are in our new living accommodations. The red 84 Cougar was very optionless, with only power mirrors on the control panel. I wish I would have had time to get the manual windows from it. The last picture is the ellusive Cougar/Cavalier hybrid I spotted.

Long live the Cougalier!
Yeah, you might stumble across a couple foxes in Omaha, but you will not find that many in one yard. And the yard definitely won't be paved.
I don't suppose any of those red interiors had good front seatbelt sleeves, but if they did, and if you snagged them, and if you are selling, I'd be interested.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
looks much better than the original front end lmao
The north U-Pull-It in Omaha is paved, as is the one in Lincoln. The south U-Pull-It in Omaha is not paved, and neither is the U-Wrench-It just south of the south U-Pull-It. I don't frequent U-Wrench-It.
You gonna be going back sometime, or was this your last trip here? I could use that trunk lid liner if you do ever go back.
Sad to see these end up in there, Especially 4eye TC. The exteriors all in excellent shape.
Wish I could find cars like that around here, Nothing even driving the streets.
same here, with the exception of BJL's 2 TC's, everything i see are run down, neglected daily beaters
Yeah, every time we go there we are just shocked that the cars are in such good shape. A lot of them look as if nothing is wrong with them, so they probably got junked for something stupid. I never see any Foxes driving around here either except for every once in a while I will see my old 84 Cougar because the guy lives a few blocks away.
Yeah, that was my last trip there. The movers will be here to take our stuff in 3 days.
Used to be a guy over there that ded them... TCs anyway. I *think* he frequented here some but surely was a member at NATO.
if you drive a few hundred miles north to fannin ga you'll find about 6 or 7 birds 4 eyed and areo
The winter has been mild but I didn't get out yet this year so thanks for kicking things off and starting this thread!
:burnout:
Let's hope 2012 is a good parts year but I doubt there will be much here in the northeast based on last year.
I'm in.
Went to one of the yards in Kansas City MO. today, there were no Fox Birds, but an 84 and an 88 Cat, both 3.8 cars with nothing we haven't already seen a billion times.
I did score some GT40 P's, a second Exploder upper/lower, another hub to replace one of my SN95 units on my Sport (that won't keep lug studs in it) and a decent passenger mirror for my farm truck.
I've just got pics of the heads 'n intakes. :hick:

shorty's in KOP have an LSC and 2 87-88 5.0 birds
I have a trunk lid liner if you want it......PM with a offer..... thanks, David
Guys, please help me. I need original oil filler cap for 2.3 turbo engine.
A clean red on red with the a 3.8.
Wow, looks clean and straight. Hood and mirrors look good.
I'm not a cougar fan but it was sad to see it in there. It was clean inside and out would be a great v8 swap. It didn't have the base model seats or the sport/TCs seats they were maybe the lx seats? And they were clean tear free seats. The back glass said it had a blown head gasket........
I can never figure these cars out. How can an owner take a decent looking car, blown head gasket, and the only option they can think of is 'junk it'???? Unless they went the Craigslist as is ad and no one was interested.
I rode with a buddy to the nearest yard yesterday, there were 2 Explorers with 5.0 engines, and 3 SN95 Mustangs, the 94 had already had the front spindles taken, but the 95 and the 96 were complete, I did grab some rear brake brackets from the '96 for my eventual rear disc/5 lug swap.
There were no Fox cars of any flavor.
Becuase most people go by the "if it cost's more to fix it than it's worth when it's fixed then don't fix it" rule. (Which personally I've just never been able to make any sense out of) And if you don't have any tools or mechanic skills to do it yourself, then paying a garage $$$$$$ to do it means it will be well over what it's worth. So since most people that drive these cars only picked em up as a DD grandpa car then they figure oh what the hell I'll junk it and use the $$ as a down payment on another beater.
If you're interested in a few bucks I do need some red interior stuff if its in decent shape and you feel like going back. PM me if you're interested.
Hi guys,
Can I ask you for a small help? My buddy has bought a 1988 Buick Regal Limited Coupe with tons of options and he would like to restore it to its original state. He gave me a list of parts he needs. Would you be so kind and look for them on your favourite junkyard? It will help him a lot.
- door handles and complete lock mechanisms (the smallest parts on the back of the lock cylinders are the most important), trunk lock cylinder (w/ key),
- passenger side A/C outlet (in beige color),
- door molding (for both doors),
- rear left ash-tray lid,
- bottom part of the passenger side door trim (in beige)
The trunk and door lock parts and handles are the most important parts he needs. Don't worry about shipping overseas. I have an aunt in US and she will ship it with some other parts later.
Thanks for help!
Does the Tbird back seat bolt in on the bottom?
Yeah, uses Torx T-50 bits. Can be a PITA if the car has seen snow/salt..
Ok. Cool. I'd like to see if those would fit in my Fairmont. This vinyl has to go!
Found a 1990 SuperCoupe in my local pull-a-part with a complete, untouched engine and transmission (automatic)....shame I didn't have the time, manpower or money to yank the whole assembly at the time.
Yeah get rid of that stupid T5 and put a HOSS supercoupe AOD in it :P
Saw these three today , a box , an 83 TC and a pair of auto trans 88 TCs
The body on the 83 was amazing
I need Turbo Coupe side molding for the Sport. All of it.
Is it me or does the tire on the tan one look enourmous...
^the tires look huge
Floatation devices.
Anybody want to be a pal and buy/ship me a passenger side tail light for an 88 TC?
Mine is busted and I cannot find one locally. Hell, I have not seen a fox t-bird at all since I got mine on 4/12/12. I've been to all junkyards here in Houston but no luck.
How much would a tail light be at your local junkyard?
If someone is willing to help me out then just pm the total. Include a reasonable fee for your time and effort.
Car-part.com
I've got a spare tail light for an '88 Tbird...not sure if it's pass or driver side though. I wouldn't normally let it go, but I need whatever funds I can scare up for my Bird.
I'm also planning a trip to the yards this weekend..if anyone wants anything, PM me, and I'll make a list of requests. No idea what there is though, as the place(s) we're going don't have an inventory posted online :(
BlackTHUNDA, you should post in the wanted section. More people will see it there.
It wasn't nice enough for your car Vinnie
I never saw one of these before
Thanks for looking for the trim pieces. As far as the console panel...tell me you got it !!!
Actually I did not .......should I go back and get it ?
It sounds like you should. If it's as nice as it looks in the pics. Then defenately.
I went and got it :)
I also took some pics
One more a virgin TC spare
wow, lots of good parts there! You should get pulling. The Sport wheel looks nice, the door panels w/ door pulls, map pocket, emblems, etc etc. I just don't see that stuff in the Northeast anymore.
Here's my 'big' find from a junkyard trip a few weeks ago. Like I said, nothing around here for the 83-86 cars and very little for the 87-88.
Anyone want to guess what car the lumbar supports came from? It's a rare one. :hick:
Well seeing as those were only used on 83, 84 turbo coupes and SVOs............ I'm going to guess an SVO
As far as pulling stuff , I will gladly pull anything anyone wants , but I lack the capital to pull stuff to sit on .. the door panels were so nice I would have grabbed except they were for manual windows which makes them a tough sell .
Good point on the door panels. What shape is that wheel in and the plastic inside triangle mirror covers? Does that place charge much for their stuff? The good thing about our yards around here is that the prices are very good. Just wish that car was here! :hick: Any pictures of the rest of the car?
Nope...if it was that easy I wouldn't have asked. :giggle: I said rare. :D
The prices here are great , I didn't notice the triangle thingys , the leather on the wheel is not in good shape.
XR4TI ??
If you get back to the junkyard, those triangle thingys are worth pulling if they aren't cracked (like most of them were from the factory!)
Not an XR4TI either. :hick: Good guess tho'! You should get a prize for the only one guessing!
Hint: It's a 1984, 1985 Model with the 5.0 HO. :hick:
Anyone want to guess what car the lumbar supports came from? It's a rare one
Ltd lx
OK..... :cheers:but was it a 2dr or 4 dr? :grinno:
Did you happen to get back and check out the car more?
I thought all LTD LX's were 4dr.???!!!
Yep... can you say 'sleeper' :hick:
I think the production was only around 3000 units so I was surprised to stumble on a 4dr, 5.0 HO in the junkyard. I forgot all about these cars.
They got the HO 5.0 ????
Yes, they were used basically as police cars but Ford did sell them to the public.
Yes they did.
In order not clutter up this thread too much I just started a new thread here:
http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?34049-1984-1985-Ford-LTD-LX
There is a link to lots of good info.
Here's what started this conversation...lumbar supports on a 4dr LTD.
They were really nice looking seats by the way...
Found a 85 Heritage looks pristine, premium option car just no sunroof, a shame how these cars get junked here in California, went to the junkyard today and saw around 8 fox tbird/cats( all 5.0's)
I was at our local yard a couple weeks ago and still no Fox bodies. They did at least have the part I needed for my daughter's car.
Wow, that's crazy but I believe you from previous pictures I saw. Honestly, some of the cars in your junkyard are better then what we see on the roads here in the northeast. Maybe I need to haul a truckload of cars back east! I'm looking for a solid 65 Mustang Coupe so if you see one of those let me know!
Please keep your eyes open for quarterpanels for an '80, 2-door Tbird. I'd like to replace my dirt, circle-track body at the end of the season - BUT Fords are few and far between in my neck of the woods. Any help spreading the word would be much appreciated! I'm sure that the cost of parts and shipping would be cheaper than paying a tinsmith to build me a new set of skins...
My beautiful Ursula
This one showed up recently
Does that LTD have the dual snorkel air cleaner??? IF you can nab any of the H.O. parts that would be awesome!! I have a CFI 5.0 and the H.O. stuff would be awesome to have!
Ive got a dual snorkel setup from a 82gt.
Base and lid. Cant remember if i have the flex parts. I will have to look..... If you would be interested.
Saw this today
this is at the local yard nice shape!!!!!!!!

I want those door panels.
Fo reals, ill see how much they want.... shipping to China is going to be pricey.lol
China? I'm a wee bit closer, Laddy. LOL.
I went to three junkyards today (and through 1/4 of gas) and only found one Fox car and it didn't have anything good in it.

There is still all kinds of good stuff on that car. emblems, trim, tail lights, back glass, hood and perhaps quarters and floor pans. Someone needs some of that stuff... trust me. ;)
It has that side molding pieces I'm looking for! (I asked you if you don't have it two weeks ago). The same with the license plate holder.
Grab it, pls.
Original electric antenna (with all fender parts) would be great as well. What about the interior? What's the color? I'm also interrested in antenna switch plate. The same with the vertical door molding.
Trinom, I have those side panels if you are interested.
Ed, those chrome mirrors are worth some money... probably the header panel too. theres quite a bit of money to be made there....
The mirrors were in mediocre shape. This car did have a coolant bottle bracket on it though...
are these panels still there?? I want them!!!!
Trinom, doesn't your TC have the wide molding on it?
Yes, it has. Does this car have partly wide and partly thin molding? It's difficult to recognise it on your photos.
Yeah, this car has the thin door moldings.
dammit...
Hello there does anyone have LS FR & FL Fenders and The Steal bumper and Plastic bumber My car washiznit by an eclips and i cant find those piticular parts
or poss. can you Loaded87IROC help by anychance i see you've found a few cougars there in a junk yard also need few misc. things for the car
(http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/l622/87tbird/IMG_14581.jpg) Such a sad sight to see there was about 8-9 fox birds/cats today. Pulled a swaybar of the Brown Elan, was in pretty good shape to just a dent on the passenger fender.
I'm amazed how nice CA 'junk' can be considering the rust we have in the NE. Also can't get over junkyards with cars on concrete slabs!!!
One of my vacations some year will be to visit a CA (or midwest rust free) junkyard. :hick:
FirstBird, did you find some Bird with wide side molding? I need two pieces - first one is on the left front fender between the wheel and door and the second one is on the right rear fender between the wheel and door. If there are cornering lamp molding pieces, grab them please too.
Thanks
