Actually I have been a member for a while I just never posted. Here is my 75k mile 86 5.0 Tbird and I don't know if I am going to keep it or not. I acquired it from my nephew who I loaned the money to buy it. But he no longer lives in GA and asked me to sell the car so he could repay the loan. Having owned a 88 Turbocoupe, a 93 5.0 Tbird, a 97 4.6 Tbird, and a bunch of mustangs I just might hold onto it. Besides having this crazy part throttle surge / hesitation everything else works.

Nice looking Bird! It looks really clean.
Very clean! Definitely a keeper. Welcome to the board!
Nice car, you should definitely keep 'er. Looks like a good foundation for an HO conversion.
Very nice bird, I know I'd keep it. Welcome aboard!
SEFI 5.0 + 4 eye = awesome :).
X2,
Sell it me, I'll have money on the 7th. Thanks.
Welcome
You don't find them with those miles and in that condition often. I'd hang on to it man!
Keep it if you can, it's awesome! What's up with the emissions/vacuum diagram on the fan shroud? It's in two pieces, usually it's one big sticker. Interesting...
Ummmmmmmmmmm wow,............I would hang on to that one.
86 5.0 cars have it in two pieces. The 87-88 have it in one piece. I have no idea why as they have the same information. My guess is someone figured out that it's easier to put one decal on instead of two.
Wow very nice. And with the ultra-coveted vent windows.
Give your head a shake......IT'S A KEEPER !!!!!!!!!
...oh ya, WELCOME! :D
KEEPER!!! Very nice.
Thats one sweet unmolested ride. I vote for you to keep it also.
If I could solve the bucking / hesitation problem I would drive it and want to keep it.
Somebody help this guy, before he puts a for sale sign on it !!!!!!
If he puts a for sale sign on it I might buy it lol. I'm not too far from GA :)
Wow! Thats a keeper, throw some plugs, wires, fuel filter and spray out that IAC motor with some carb cleaner and go from there. That is a nice clean bird.
Light throttle surge could be the TPS. I'd start there.
I'd check for codes first...
TPS was .86 to 4.88 and numbers moved up pretty smooth with throttle opening, timing is at 11, and it's not the IAC.
Trying to check codes but all auto parts stores will only test 96 and newer and I only have a digital volt meter.
Do you have a test light? Follow this link for how to get codes with a test light. http://www.extreme-check-engine-light-codes.com/Ford%20OBD1%20Decoder.htm
