Can you carburetor guys tell me what intake you run and how much hood clearance you have?
Old performer with a motor sport 13" drop base air cleaner. Leaves about an inch between the hood and 3"filter
Edel performer RPM, 1" 4 hole spacer, 3/8" insulating gasket and a 84 HO dual snorkel air cleaner....had to trim the hood insulation AND the hood bracing...but it closes. This is an older pic and unfortunately doesn't show the hood but I'll keep looking.
I am assuming this is only pertaining to stock hooded cars?

Not at all bro I'd like to get info on/see any and all possibilities and than make a decision . My combo's going to be a .030 over 5.0 10 to 1 compression .590/.603 230/236 @ .050 solid roller Vic Jr heads 650 carb and for the beginning anyway an old torker intake I had around . Also 4.10 rear 2500 converter .
The 4.10 rear and the 2500 converter are in my 87 cougar now along with shorty headers and an off road x pipe with Quick flow lers . You would be suprised how strong that old 150 horse power low po 5.0 runs with this setup . I can't wait for the real motor to go in .
I run a 8.2 deck engine with a Parker Funnel Web intake manifold, 4150 series Pro Systems Carb, and a Moroso 2 1/2 inch drop deck air cleaner and a 3 inch filter. The engine mounts are custom 2 1'2" tall solid steel instead of the factory 3" fluid dampened biscuits. Everything else is standard height and I have 3/8" clearance from the top of the cleaner and the hood.
Took a pic of the underside of the hood to-day that is more up to date.
I love your setup . It looks like it came from the factory that way .
How's the low end with that Funnel Web ?
Thanks. I pray that a motor mount never lets loose while I'm standing on it! LOL
