Title: New Axe!
Post by: cougarcragar on May 31, 2005, 06:54:20 PM
As some of you may know, I am a guitarist. I've been playing since 1993, and I've collected and sold many guitars.
I was given some money for graduating college, so I decided to buy myself a nice guitar. Most of my instruments have been deals between friends, and they are usually cheapo knock-off guitars.
This is a nearly-new Schecter C1+ "Diamond Series" guitar. It features a flamed maple top, dual Seymour-Duncan humbuckers, and incredible balance.
Let me know what y'all think!

It has a smaller neck than most Strats have, but I think it's just right for me (even though I have ape hands).
I played it two separate times for about 20 minutes over the past three weeks, and I finally made the decision today.
This thing is used, but it is MINT. I mean, you actually have to look for flaws in it.
A friend of mine runs his own music store. He had it marked at $375 but I scored it for $350.
The balance and sustain of this guitar is mind-blowing. I almost ripped my callouses off because I got so into it.
:D

Looks kinda PRS-ish ! I thought they called that style sunburst instead of flamed :dunno: ?? Either way looks slicker than snot! Enjoy!! :ies:

It's a sunburst finish, but I think it's called flamed due to the pattern and grain of the wood. I'm still trying to learn this stuff myself! I've always been a Fender guy...

Ouch.

Nice looking guitar.  Question from a novice:  What are "dual Seymour-Duncan humbuckers"?

The pick-ups themselves are what are called humbuckers (Seymour-Duncan branded) and there are 2 hence the dual. Kinda shotting blind since it's been a while, but the humbuckers are of a dual coil variety, and a standard fender strat typically has a single coil pickup.

humbuckers give a sort of Les Paulish type of sound, kinda thick and crunchy, if you will...
I have a Squier stratocaster knockoff, and a Fernandes Retro-rocket, that needs a new neck...
savin dough for a SG, or an Epiphone Les...
Thats a kick-ass lookin' axe ya got-I like string thru body too, adds sustain out the ass!  :headbang:  :headbang:
