Title: 5 lug spindle swap
Post by: StrokerBird on January 07, 2012, 08:53:51 AM
I've seen alot about SN95 spindle swaps. I'm curious if there a difference in V6 and V8 spindles? I'm sure I'll catch some flack for asking but you never know if you don't ask. Thanks guys for any info.  :toilet:

I hope not I'm using v6 spindles. I was under the impression they were all the same, GT ,V6 OR COBRA

the V6 and GT parts are the same. As far as Cobra...I know the brake parts themselves can be, and usually are different, but I *think* the spindles are the same for those.

spindles are the same, i have "cobra" spindles.
reason why

me and a friend found spindles and front brake set up for a 95 cobra, his bro had a 96 GT, he use the brake components and gave me the cobra spindles and his gt brakes as a finders fee. its whats on my car now... the brake heat shield is an inch bigger then my rotors now, lol.

Sweet a local guy is parting out a 98 and I was gonna rob the parts. I even thought of taking his stock 6cyl rear just so I got matching bolt patterns.

Just pull the axles. The 7.5 is used either way, and his rear brakes and axles would be easier to work then the whole rear end.

Yep...and, if you ever locate an 8.8 rear, you can use the 5 lug axles in the 8.8 housing. The axles are the same, 7.5 vs 8.8, in regards to 94-98 Mustangs.
