My drivers side window is real tight in the track has anyone lubed them up I was afraid of making a lapping compound and scratching the window?
Or is there an adjustment I'm missing.
Thanks
Grease your window tracks with white lithium grease, and rub vasoline on the rubber window dew wipes.
..... silicon spray.
are you sure its not your regulator? I had a similar problem, I always thought it was the track, but then I lubed the scissor thing up and it works grrrrrreat. Although I do have manual windows...
Sarjxxx, what did you use to free it up. It was frosty this morning and I had to open the door at the tollbooth cuz the window wouldn't budge more than an inch!
This makes a huge difference when sprayed in the actual felt running up both sides of the window.
you know, I just WD-40'd the out of it. I used WD cause of the straw and curved it around and sprayed the heck out of the regulator track, the hinges, and the rollers, rolled it up and down a few times, then hit everything again.
It may not be that the problem isn't in the window track, but I am saying this could help you out quite a bit either way. Mine used to be so stuck that it wouldn't roll up properly... one side of the window would always try to pop out of the track, unless I held it in as I rolled up the window. Then when it got to the top, it wouldn't seat properly and I would have to pull one side of it up. After this, it works like it did from the factory.
So I have white lithed the metal tracks and silicone sprayed the felt tracks. At first it was way better but 24 hours later it stalls at the top. When I put the door together the glass would stay up with nothing attached to it. It was really tight on the felt. Its there an adjustment? or is it time for a new motor ?
Thanks
you may want to disconnect the clips from the frame and manually run it up and down the track to look where it is bind ing on. Mine was coming out of the track at the top. After that it works like a champ.
