Title: TC Parking Brake Cable ?
Post by: 88 Blackbird 5.0 on December 04, 2011, 08:38:49 PM
For those of you who have swapped a 5.0L into a TC, how did you route the passenger side parking brake cable?  Did you route it up and over the top of the driveshaft tunnel (that's how I did mine), or what?  Just curious what the preferred method was.  I don't see how you could reuse the crossmember that the cable was originally attached to.

parking brake cable? what on earth is that? :giggle: someone must have already re-routed the cable on my black TC because i didn't have to move it or anything.. i assumed it was in the stock location.. mine actually runs along the floorboards and across the top of the rear

Someone must have relocated it for you.  From the factory, there was a flimsy cross member that ran across the driveshaft tunnel (at the back of the floor pans).  The passenger side E-brake cable ran across that cross member originally.

i think it may be a truck cable, because it's a lot thicker than the DS cable and the cables that used to be on the other car
