Tom, if you've swapped from the EATC to the manual setup, you'll also have to swap a few wires as well....at least, I had to when I did mine this past summer.
I should've wrote down and taken pics of the necessary changes....it wasn't too hard, even for someone who detests wiring and can barely interpret an EVTM, lol
Btw, that dash looks great...what does something like cost? (..if it has a price tag...)
Looks fantastic.
regular upholstery shops will typically charge you about 5-600 for something like that, if not more.. it's pretty easy to do yourself if you have patience
looks good tom!
I want that dash, perfect color for me also.
Same here!!
Well T
O.K., I'll ask....how much does dash covering like that cost? It looks great. I was lucky to find a crack free dash last year. That was a find I didn't think could happen anymore.
Not s
Do you think the new covering is more durable than the vinyl or whatever is on the stock dashes?
I think I see what you mean about swapping the climate control..all you guys did was swap the ductwork, right? if the car remains an EATC, other than the different ducting, the dash doesn't care what kind of HVAC system is in..no?
if you keep the leather from drying out, it will last a lot longer.. if you neglect it and it sees a lot of warm sunlight, you're screwed.. a nice, occasional wipe-down with a quality leather cleaner will give it a long, healthy life
Yes
I see...yeah, in your case, the wiring wouldn't change then. That is a hell of a nice dash..makes me wonder about getting some strong and durable material, sanding down a somewhat cracked dash, and then gluing the material down on it so it has a smooth, but slightly textured finish, like an original dash might have. Something I could do myself and save several hundred bucks.
Will be something to look into after the holidays..
