Well the time had come to replace my girlfriends 2004 Rio so we ordered a new car. It just came in Friday night. We picked it up yesterday.

2012 Mustang 3.7 V6. Base. Automatic and 3.31 axle ratio, grabber blue. It's pretty fast, maybe even a bit faster than my T-bird;). I can only imagine how much faster a 5.0 GT is. I think that means the T-bird needs an upgrade to a set of aluminum heads:D.
Awesome. How does the V6 feel?
The V6 feels great. It doesn't quite have the low end punch of a V8 but when you get it above 3000 rpms wham it takes off. I think it's the first time I've been in a V6 powered Mustang where I said "Holy s**t!" when I nailed the throttle. According to magazine tests it gets to 60mph in about 5.8 seconds. I don't doubt it. It feels just as fast as my 5.0 T-bird. It makes a great daily driver.
Congratulations on your new car. Grabber Blue looks great on it :)
I am curious what kinda mileage they get. I know they say 31mpg freeway.
i believe 27/31mpg
I'm not sure yet but we'll find out. It hasn't been driven enough to figure out. After the 60ish miles of mixed city/highway driving its done the trip computer says it's getting about 21 mpg. My girlfriend has a much lighter foot than I do so I'm hoping it will see about 20+ mpg in a mix of city and highway driving. Can you imagine 20+ mpg in mixed driving with 305HP?
My Focus averages about 26 mpg in the city, where I do 99% of my driving. On a few long highway trips its taken it averages about 36 mpg at 75+.
The T-bird gets about 14 city/23 highway. I don't care about the mileage from it though as it's a toy :).
Thats how my Genesis Coupe is. It takes some getting used to. You sorta have to thnk 5 seconds in the future when driving, because if you're cruising at 2,000rpms and gun it, its not faster than any other car, but once those RPM's get to spinning, time to hold on.
congratulation... very pretty horse...
Grabber blue looks good on those new 'stangs! Sounds like either your GF has good tastes in cars or you have corrupted her ;).
I took the wife's '10 Fusion to the dealer for some warranty work and was checking out all the new Ford's. Ford is doing a great job right now from the Focus and Fiesta all the way up the the Super Duty's! I think every vehicle they make is top of its class as far as the "overall package" (quality, powerplant, looks, etc).
She picked it out :).
She also looks good and has other redeeming qualities you guys:hick:.
All I can think of is how that car will degrade before your eyes. It's so hard to imagine because it's sitting there all brand new. But it must break your heart knowing that it has to be sacrificed. LOL
in that case.. wife material! hahah
Very nice. You could add fog lights and get auto lamps too:

Nice, I'm considering one of those with a 6 speed for a daily driver.
I was looking into one with the glass roof.
Congrats on the new ride! I'll have a mustang some day. I just wonder how it's going to go in the snow. I'm going this saturday to look at new F150's. I'm not sure I'll get one yet but even with just getting my wifes 2012 Focus I think with my Fusion,(an 06 with a little less than 38k miles), as a trade I think we might be able to swing it. With all the rebates and incentives, + we have the x-plan were I work, I think it might be do able.
Those new F-150's are NICE. I didn't like the rear styling at first but now I think they are by far the best looking 1/2 ton truck on the road. I hear they run pretty nice with the ecoboost motor too.
my dad wants to get 1.. he worked on 1 at work (ford dealership body shop) that had gotten hit on a test drive and fell in love when he test drove it.. i personally don't like them too much, because i don't like the new-age styling, but i heard they ride like a cadillac compared to any other truck
Omg what is it with you and brand new blue fords? That's a HELL of an upgrade from a Rio to a 2012 stang though whooh. You have no idea how much I very badly want one of those. hell I'd be happy with a 2010 v6 with the 4.0 still in it. I loooooove those bodies.
It matches the Ford logo color? ;)
I drove one exactly like that during a recent stay in South Dakota. It was a fun car to tool around in for a week.
Hope it ends up treating her right!
My dream car is the new Boss Mustang. 444 HP, 7500 RPM redline OMG let me stop!
If I keep up on the washings it might stay in good shape for awhile :hick:.
I'd like one of those as a toy. In orange. I'm not quite at the stage where I could swing one though :rollin:.
That's pretty go disappointing. Hopefully it's just in the computer and after some driving it will get better. Hell, I think the GT gets better than that. I was considering trading the Mustang for a new GT but I'm all set with owing anybody anything and making payments.
I average 25-26 generally with my dinosaur and I'm not gentile with it. Personal best of 31.3 on a long highway trip.
Meh, anyway, nice car.
I does take awhile for the trip computer to adjust. Based on the math from fill ups it's getting about 25-26 mpg in a combination of heavy city (downtown Chicago) traffic and some highway driving. The computer that Ford puts in these cars takes awhile to average out mpg. When I bought my Focus it was saying I was getting 18 mpg in city driving for about 2 months. In reality, based on math from miles traveled and gas put in the tank, I was getting about 27 mpg in strictly city driving in heavy traffic.
