Not sure if I got the right fuel pump, the instructions say some parts may be different. The one on the left is the old one with the filter right behind it. The one on the right is the new one which has a screen but no filter.

Here they are side by side old one on the left, you can see how the tops are different, but when I look at them it would still be possible to run the new one, just a few less parts. Do I have the right one or is this a problem?

The one on the right looks like mine, but I have a filter on it. Gotta have one.
I got almost the same one... mine came with a sleeve to put it into the old rubber piece, and mine has a connector for new wiring. But it's the same style as the one on the right
Where did you buy the new one from?

I really hat
After a supposedly Hi Perf Carter failed in my Bird after a little over a year, I'll now only use the Walbro pumps... The 'bro replacement is now over 10 years old...
I guess I will need another pump. I don't know what would be required in eliminating a pulsator?
When the parts places ask for the VIN 4, are they talking about the fourth character in thhe VIN?
Nothing, just install the new pump without it, don't think the one on that Bosch pump will fit a Walbro pump that was OEM in most Fords...
Is this the one I need? FuelPumps.com (http://"http://www.fuelpumps.com/19861988-ford-thunderbird-fuel-pump-6-cyl-38l-34-efi-p-1754.html")
