Found these new Accel 14lb injectors going for $5 a piece on ebay. I ordered 8. They combined shipping which came to $12.52. Grand total was $52.52:D I was all set to pay at least 3 times that!
am i reading this right.. 14lb? lol
14# injectors? I haven't seen those since I went H.O power when I swapped to 19's...then to 24's now.
Stock size. I have a wide band and adjustable boost sensitive regulator, plus low boost. AFRs hang at 14:1 and richen slightly under boost. The car has been supercharged for 7 years with no problem and still has perfect compression. Never saw any reason to upsize. I actually bought 42lb injectors and a mass air conversion back in the day, but i sold all that stuff when i realized it could run perfect without it.
Awesome!
I'll second that emotion.....awesome.
I installed the injectors this morning. The Accels have a conical spray pattern. Should atomize a little better than the OEMs.

It was worth the money for the looks alone.

i still can't believe you're running 14lb's with that powerdyne shoving air down it's throat.. they just seem a little light, but if they work, that's great and saves you a boat load of cash on new injectors lol
IDK how they keep up, but they do.
So, are you running a stock motor with the supercharger? No mustang stuff even?
yup, motor is stock.
You can get quite a bit more from that, upgrading some parts. Throw a stock h.o. cam in there, explorer intake, 24#ers and a 93 cobra computer, or even a chipped sd mustang computer, and you might have the power to pull 13's. Or lower out of it. I'd lose the flowmasters and run some 3" or bigger exhaust.
an exploder intake and a stock HO cam alone will make a world of difference lol
I'd like to do the HO conversion or maybe even a crate motor some day. I just have too many projects going on and right now. I took the bird to the track a few years ago and it ran a 14.44 on bald tires, with a 2.55 60ft. I had to let off on all 3 of my passes because I started getting sideways. 13s could be just a set of slicks away.
how much boost is the powerdyne cramming down it's throat?
It hits 8psi
14's will handle approximately 220 flywheel horsepower on a naturally aspirated motor at Ford factory pressure levels. Put more pump behind them and raise the pressure and they'll support more, but it's wear and tear on the pump.
Stock non-HO 5.0 plus the 8 pound Powerdyne kit should put you slightly above H.O power.....
Thats about what i figured. It feels very strong thanks to gearing and lots of low end torque.
