Searched again but not seeing what I am looking for.
I have a complete set of '87 TC front hardware from the top of the strut to the rotor grease cap...it's all there. Was going to swap it onto my '88 Sport. But before hand I did some measuring......it all looks the same to me! Rotors are the same size, braking surface is the same size. Why is this a desireable swap?? What am I missing??!!
The Sport brakes are smaller than TC brakes. They are the same as the V-6 cars.....crazy Ford people back then. Maybe yours already had the TC brake swap.
Doubt it...the prior owner was not that type.
The rotors are the same diameter on my Sport as the TC parts I have. Are the calipers and pads bigger?
My rotors on the Sport are smaller than the Turbo Coupe brakes....which are like the Fox Mustang GT brakes as far as size goes.
Ah-ha.....I have a fox'stang GT in the garage...two of them in fact! Guess I'll be pulling a wheel tomorrow.
I believe the TC has 11 inch brakes. Sports have 9 inch brakes.
Non-87-88 TC brakes are 10"
Are you sure that set-up is from an 87TC?
Yep.....had the title, the car, and yanked the parts myself. Also have the rear end under my Sport.

Uh....yeah.....good thing I didn't have a measuring test today. The rotors are all assembled and I just took a quicky measurements earlier....just remeasured with a straight edge and level. The TCs are bigger....my Sports are 10".
Please disregard this thread!! ;)
