Our youngest son (Caleb) has enlisted up with the US Marine Corp on Tues. Oct 18th 2011. He told us he wanted to serve his Country and Protect our Freedom and will be shipping out to S.Carolina for boot camp next August '12. His goal is to end up in the "Military Police" force and looking forward to traveling. Both Paula & myself are very proud to have such a fine :bowdown: Son and wish him well in his journeys that lie ahead for him. :america: :grinno:

Congrats on having an honorable son. Not many of our youth decide to enlist today...was under 10% last I heard. I wish I had gone USMC, army screwed me over...blah blah blah won't go into detail. But glad to see he's going, they won't let you give up...even if you think you want to. Smart choice.

After almost a years passed....

:bowdown: Caleb our youngest son has said his final oath to join up with the Marines today down in Nashville,Tn and left early this afternoon for Perris Island S.Carolina. Both of us are very proud of him so now it's 13 weeks till we pick him up from Graduation Day Nov 2nd 2012. :america:

1 week from tomorrow our son Caleb graduates from his Marine Boot Camp and it feels like he has been gone for forever. Hopefully I can get some photos to post up on here while we are in S.Carolina folks. :headbang: :america:

Congratulations! Looks like we've got a lot of Marines here, I was Air force. One more week of boot camp.... I'm sure a lot of us remember those days! Please tell him "Thanks" from me as well! Next time you see him, I'm sure you know, you'll see the beginning of a different man. I believe the military builds a man from the inside out. It does something to you no one can ever take away from you. It gives a man what he really needs to deal with life. I know I would have never accomplished what I have, if I didn't serve my country. It opened doors for me. After I got out, my G.I bill helped pay for my college. I spent the last 26 years serving my country in another way. Now I sit here, a free man, drinking coffee and retired. May God bless you and your son!

Thanks fellas , Caleb started his 54 hour crucible today with only 3 mre's and let us know when he is done on Saturday then his status of becoming a Marine will be complete. Semper FI :headbang:

Update:

Caleb graduated from MCT training today and is in route to Ft Leonard Wood to check in. He and the other MP Marines first get to come home for the Holidays then return to start their training next year due to it being backed up till then. Semper FI :america:

good for him i just got honorable discharged 12 days after your son joined hes got a life full of great memories ahead of him along with some hard times but i wouldnt have traded it for the world

*Update

On May 1st Caleb was promoted to Lance Corporal and will be finishing up his MP School training on May 23rd. He will then be stationed at Camp Lejeune which is what we had hoped for. :headbang:

Although he will be stationed there, is he going to be traveling? When I was in the military, I was gone about 50% of the year somewhere other than my permanent duty station.

Caleb graduated from his MP Training yesterday and earned his MP Badge then shortly afterwards made his way to the airport for a long day of flying. After finally getting in at 2:30am this morning he sent a text saying they gave them all liberty for this Holiday Weekend. :america: :headbang:

Quick update: 9-2-13

This past Saturday evenning Aug 31,2013 Caleb & Kristen (his girlfriend) were engaged to be married. It will be a while before the big day happens due to his MP Marine service status and her finishing up a College Degree. :drink:
